Who I Follow

A little Throwback Thursday here, Friends. An ancient unfinished Lere comic from back in the LIVEJOURNAL DAYS. Sexy Scrabble.

I still get random emails every so often asking if I’ll finish this, and I don’t think I will sorry, but it’s a reminder that I really need to update my portfolio site yikes! But the only way I get through deadlines anymore is by promising myself the pleasure of making more Lere comics so… hopefully some of that soon! It would be really easy to just make comics about snuggling in bed, as that is my favorite thing to do.

Happy weird comic sexy scrabble Thursday, cuties!

TCAF was amazing! I just got home from Toronto last night (my plane got struck by lightning and I won’t stop going on about it for a few days because it was ultra terrifying) and maybe when I get some rest I will make a post about the event itself. My mom flew in to Toronto right after so we could hang out a bit -AND- I bought a wedding dress! How PRODUCTIVE was this trip, huh?

Claw of the Earth part three came out and so far I’ve been hearing some nice things from people people who bought it! EEEEEEE! I kinda can’t believe I’ve finally finished this story. Onward to the huge amount of shipping I have to get done O_O

Anyway, here are some progress images I posted last month on instagram and the color legends for Finn and Shan’s new outfits!

I’m at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival this weekend! Come drop by table 221 in The Salon and say hi/pick up my debut The Claw of the Earth Part 3! That’s right, the final one!

Some panels I’m involved in:

Canadian Reading Series
@ Toronto Reference Library (Second floor)
Appel Salon, Novella Room
Free to attend, no registration required.

All Canadian Reading Series events begin on the hour, and are 50 minutes long. They are comprised of a reading/presentation from each author, followed by a short Q&A.

12pm: Tony Cliff for Delilah Dirk. Jordyn Bochon for The Terrible Death of Finnegan Strappe.

2:45pm-3:45pm: Genre Comics & Women

From fairy tales to sci-fi dystopias, for adult and for all-ages readers, women are writing, drawing and publishing comics that explore other worlds, other eras, and other societies. Hear these passionate panelists discuss what they love about genre fiction, why they choose to write and draw genre comics, and what they’re bringing to a kind of comic that is often associated with frilly princesses, Frazetta pinups and femme fatales. Featuring Faith Erin Hicks (The Last of Us), Jordyn Bochon (Finnegan Strappe), Becky Cloonan (Batman), Sloan Leong (Alpha Princess Garou Shoujo), Isabelle Melancon (Namesake), and Sanya Anwar (1001); moderated by Rachel Kahn.

Hope to see you there!

A little fanart for Jordyn Bochon's The Terrible Death of Finnegan Strappe. Hope everyone has a great time at TCAF!

Ahhhhh! This is perfect! Thank you so much, lovely darling!

Thought I would post some comic peeks from this past weekend. Full steam ahead! I have to tell you, 80 pages into this story and I am JAZZED that Finnegan Strappe gets a wardrobe change. It’s even a throwback to his earliest designs from -back in the day-.

Also, my cat, the great Tuna Newn, has started sleeping on my pillow exclusively and this is the face I wake up to every morning. Best little helper! My 17 year old feline daughter.

I was looking around my work space on the weekend and I came across this older marker warrior that I still love. I would go adventuring with her!

My long-time pal Jordyn is a really amazing comic artist, illustrator, writer, singer, costume designer, and filmmaker. She was wearing this sweet ensemble the other week and I was creepy and asked to take a picture of it with her own phone. I am sure you already follow her work, but if not please rectify that immediately.

IT’S-A-MEEEEE! AW! COLLEEN MACISAAC!

She’s such a talented lady and an amazing friend. YOU should be following HER! She updates -every single day- it’s mind-blowing!

The Lost Woods. A Link to the Past illustration made for NEStalgia, an art exhibit inspired by vintage video games, which goes up tonight!! You will be able to buy this print if you go in person!

I will be there, probably being nervous and awkward, so come say hi! It’s up until the 30th.

You can see the line art in my previous post.

Obviously, this scene from Link to the Past was pretty groundbreaking for a lot of people. Though I did not make his hair pink like I had first planned, I did get to include all of the rando squirrels and birds that make this moment so excellent. Hope you like it!

Day blog! Thank you so much for your kind words and reblogs/likes. You’re all so nice <3

Hey dudes! This is my Final Fantasy piece for the NEStalgia show that’s happening at the Dart Gallery in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, opening tonight and going through next week. If you’re in the area, you should come down and buy a print of one of the amazing illustrations made especially for this show, including Jordyn's amazing Link to the Past piece!

Man, how fun is it to make up new interpretations of the Final Fantasy dudes!? Everyone should give it a shot, it’s lots of fun. Someday when I have time, I’d like to draw these guys in the their ‘advanced’ classes!

Check out this amazing piece my bffbfF Tim Carpenter did for the same show! UGH STOP.TOO GOOD. STOP.
