It’s Tim’s birthday today. Cutie of my life. BFF. Tugboat Supreme.
I was tidying up the living room with him tonight and was suddenly struck by how great his hair looked so I sketched it out and then added color. A lot of the nuance of the sketch was lost, but at least it was fun and quick.
We’re celebrating by having a Golden Eye tournament with some people and then going on a road trip to the UNESCO site town of Lunenburg. Cutie Patrol!
I hope you guys like nipples and markers. A billion years ago I did this Lere V-day comic! Since it’s that day and I’ve never posted it on tumblr, I thought I might as well! My piece for the Horror Hangover show going up in Vancouver tomorrow. It was put together by Robin McConnell of Inkstuds.
It’s called “After Everyone Is Plant Food” and it is made of markers. Also, I tweaked a few things in photoshop, so you should go to the show and see/buy the original. I fooled around with keeping a looser background, obviously I’m still obsessed with drawing people who like plants more than people. Ja-ja-just la-la-like me… I hope you enjoy it!

This is actually from a few months ago but since it’s my BFFBF’s birthday today I thought I would share it. A little while ago I thought it would be great if people could become small-animal-sized and be carried around in pockets and that sort of thing. I’m SUCH a weird-o.
But, luckily Tim is adorable and wonderful and puts up with my creep-element (I am such a creep, guys). He is also super talented at drawing and being a mindbogglingly inspiring human/partner in crime (also.. I loves’m)! Happy birthday, lovely creature!
I was thinking about how adorable Paarthurnax from Skyrim is, and then I remembered that I did this commission of a green dragon a YEAR ago and never posted it anywhere. This is more or less the first dragon I’ve ever attempted and I think I’m going to try my hand at a few over the summer. Monsters, I admire people who can draw them well!
Well, May was a crazy month of travel, deadlines, and general insanity. Also, I had a birthday surprise from my friends at the end of it all. I’m looking forward to spending the summer drawing hard (I have about a billion comic pages to draw), growing green things, and enjoying the classic Canadian drink, The Caesar.
Speaking of markers, here’s a quickie of Lere. I’m currently working on a new comic project with him, but since I’m also working on this very big Finnegan project and another big unnameable project I always have to do some practice drawings to get him right. His shapes are softer and more adorable than Finnegan’s, I think (sorry Finnegan). You can read a few older comics about him online HERE.
Lere is all science fiction and awkward sexual encounters. Hahaha.

For the first time in a long time I’m doing an open call for commissions! I’ve got a lot of travelling to do this month (first TCAF, next MeCAF, then some other yet to be announced things), so I’m trying to raise some funds to make up for shipping costs and those sorts of fun things.
I finally have time to do this! I hope there are a few people out there interested (I have had some questions about when I would do it again and the time is NOW)!
